Beer is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages in the world. It is consumed globally by millions and celebrated with festivals such as the Oktoberfest Beer Festival, Beerfest Asia and more!
Beer is created through a step-by-step process that includes malting, mashing, boiling and fermenting. In essence, once the grain starches are converted into sugar, the sugar is extracted and fermented with yeast.
Fun fact: A beer purity law was implemented in Germany to govern the ingredients used in making beer. Hence, German beer only uses 4 ingredients: water, hops, malt and yeast!
Types of beer
At House of Amber Nectar, we offer a variety of beer including Lager, Weissbier, Pale Ale, Märzen, and many more!
- Lager: Lager is a beer with a refreshing and clean taste. It can come in 4 different colours - pale, amber, dark and black.
- Weissbier: Weissbier, otherwise known as white beer, is created from malted wheat. Due to the use of wheat, it is typically cloudy.
- Pale Ale: Pale ales have a stronger malt and hops flavour as compared to lagers. Thus, they also taste more bitter.
- Märzen: Märzen is a type of lager brewed in March and left to ferment through spring and summer.
